Here I am at MOMA in front of an incredible painting by Gerhard Richter (a great show). Marshall snapped this shot and I love how I'm kind of fuzzy in it, and the painting is kind of fuzzy. This was the Lambda Literary Awards, held on May 2, 2002 in New York. My poetry publisher did a typo on their site and called it the Lambada awards. Margaret Cho received a special bridge-builder award. Here she is flanked by the Quan brothers. I read her autobiography on the plane-ride back to Oz. I loved it! OK. This one was taken on Walter's camera. Can you tell we really liked getting a photo with her? She was lovely and kind.

Everyone thought this was great, and we jumped to our feet in applause.
