A five hour drive, which would have been two if the shortcut was open, and we arrived in the tea growing area of Munnar - some of the most beautiful landscape I'd ever seen!

After the Chennai meeting, I was lucky enough to travel around South India with David and Sam - great travel companions and great guys. Madurai was an amazing temple city.

I heart New York as well as San Francisco. Modern Art museums, hanging about, visits with friends, a Broadway show, a walk in a labyrinth...

A wedding, visits with friends, and excursions to Muskoka and Peterborough. It was an action-packed 9 days, but I really managed to have great catchups with friends.

Some cities charm in an instant and Mumbai was one. A coastal city, with great food, shopping, buildings. A BIG city with people and colours and music. I loved it.

Lucky for me that a colleague took me to the old town in Delhi. And then a day trip to Agra and the Taj Mahal was more even more beautiful than I thought it would be.

After the meeting in Switzerland, I thought where in Europe do I want to go? But of course, Paris. I hadn't been there for a few years, and god, I loved every minute of it.

A short meeting on HIV vaccines in Lausanne meant that I got to spend a few days in Geneva and then a few days in Lausanne and luckily knew people in both places.

I'd never been to the isle of Greece - so headed off there after the Barcelona conference for a little vacation.

Late 2001

In late 2001, I went to Brussels for a meeting of the Global Fund. Added to photos of dear friends in Brussels are shots from Christmas and New Year's, when I was in Hawaii with my family.
