Welcome to
Writing-ville

| |
I'm the author of four books and the co-editor
of one. My writing has also appeared in many anthologies
and literary journals. My writing is a mix of the
fictional, semi-autobiographical, and
fully-autobiographical, and I write about a range of
topics: culture, family, race, childhood, sex, community,
dating, gay identity, and more. I love being a published
author and I'm very thankful to my publishers and
editors. I don't imagine I'll ever be a huge-selling
author, but the books I've sold have allowed me to get my
words and thoughts out into the world, perform and
present at lively events, and meet interesting
people and kindred souls - both fellow authors and fans.
I'm happy you've found this page: hope you enjoy
exploring. |
My Books |
| Bowling Pin Fire
is my new collection of poetry, published in
October 2007 through Signature Editions of
Winnipeg. |

Bowling Pin
Fire |
| My book of gay
erotica and sex writing was published by Green
Candy Press in 2005. It's called Six
Positions: Sex Writing by Andy Quan and
is available internationally. |
 |
|
| My first short story to be
published ("How to Cook Chinese Rice"
in 1993) became the opening story of my first
book, a collection of short fiction, Calendar
Boy, published in 2001 in Canada and
2002 in Australia. |

|
| Slant,
my first collection of poetry, was published in
2001 at the same time as Calendar Boy. Click on
the link to the right to find some of the poems
that were in the book. |
 |
|
| My poetry and
short fiction have been published in literary
magazines and anthologies since the late 1980s
and hey, I'm still going! |
 |
|
| Swallowing Clouds
is an anthology of Chinese-Canadian poetry that I
co-edited. A great collection. |

| My Blog and Links and Such |
|
| I started a blog
in 2005, mainly to try to stimulate my writing.
It's a mixed bag of meandering thoughts, travel
snippets and more (or less). Feel free to visit. |

|
For those who want to know the exact
locations of where all my writing has
appeared, these are the detailed references for
books, anthologies, and literary magazines. | |
A selection of various links to
writing friends and places... Oh, and a list
of the books I've been reading. And any
other miscellaneous stuff I can think of.
